Bluetooth Mouse Mimic - Process
Sketching and Planning
Projecting Each Side onto a Round Shape, Subtracting, Adding
Final "Normal" Model
Initial Prototype
The first thing I did since finishing my model was to try out printing a small low-resolution version of it to see how the basic structure would come out without very many supports. I'm happy with the result and ready to print the modified version of the object as well soon.
Modifying the Model
Once I had my normal mouse model finished I began to modify it entirely. First I bent the cover piece open like a mouth. The details involved fleshy webbing at the corners of the mouth, gums and teeth, a ribbed texture on the uncovered parts of the mouse, and different text on the DPI button. Combining everything into a valid polysurface was another time killer, but eventually, I had two versions of the model: the normal mouse and the transformed "mimic" monster.
Prusa Set-Up As of June 12th
Looks like a lot of supports!
I will have another update on the printing process by class.
